Create a Reward

Loyalty Essentials clients have access to a pre-defined Offer type Reward template. This Reward template is intended to serve as a quick starting point for presenting reward opportunities to Members. Marketers can simply copy the Reward template, optionally adjust its properties to meet their specific requirements, then publish and use the new Reward.

The platform also supports other Reward types that address other marketing use cases. Instead of using the pre-defined Reward template, you can also create a Reward from scratch.

Copy a Reward from a Template

To copy a Reward template:

  1. Select Rewards from the top navigation bar, then select Rewards > Rewards from the side navigation menu. The Rewards screen is displayed.

  1. Search for the desired Reward (see Search for a Reward for more information on the available search options). Reward templates are named using the convention “TEMPLATE: <Reward name>.” Searching for the text string “template” can be a useful way to filter the Rewards screen to show only the Reward template.

  1. Next to the desired Reward template, click the Copy icon.

Note. You can also copy a Reward template from the Reward Details screen. Navigate to the Reward Details screen for the desired template, then click the Copy icon within the header area of the screen

  1. The system creates a new Reward and displays the Reward Details screen, with the Definition tab selected. The default name of the new Reward is the name of the base Reward template, followed by an incremental counter, such as "(1)."

  2. To rename the Reward, within the Reward Details section, enter a descriptive name in the Display Name field.

  3. Optionally, in the Description field, enter a description of the new Reward.

  4. By default, Reward templates are assigned to the Template Reward Category, and assigned the Tag value of Template. These values are intended to make it easier to search for the base templates within your account. When you copy a template, the best practice recommendation is to remove these default Category and Tag assignments in the copied Reward. In the Categories field, click the X icon next to Template. Likewise, in the Tag field, click the X icon next to Template. Optionally, you can assign your own Reward Category and / or Tag value to the new Reward.

  5. When copying objects, the recommended best practice is to change the new object’s internal name. At the bottom of the Reward Details section, click Show More to reveal additional properties. Click the lock icon next to the Internal Name field to make the field editable. A confirmation dialog box is displayed; click OK. Enter a new internal name.

Note: The internal name must be unique and can not include any special characters or spaces; only numbers, letters, and underscores are allowed. Do not change the internal name once the Reward is published.

  1. Click Save.

Create a New Reward

To create a new Reward from scratch:

  1. Select Rewards from the top navigation bar, then select Rewards > Rewards from the side navigation menu. The Rewards screen is displayed.

  1. In the Enter Display Name field, enter the Display Name value for the new Reward.

  2. From the Select Reward Type drop-down, select the desired Reward type.

  1. Click Create. The Reward Details screen is displayed with the Definition tab selected.
